The Between Times by Marta Moran Bishop

Like George Orwell’s Animal Farm and 1984 Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, The Between Times is a social cautionary tale. Beautifully written, it’s a short book about a small girl trying to understand what she’s not allowed to know. Although the author set the story in Chicago, it could take place anywhere, because Marta Moran Bishop wields a mighty metaphor. I had the honor and privilege to edit The Between Times, and I highly recommend it. There is magic in its pages as Jewell weaves the light of The Between Times.
